Thereās something truly magical about Halloween through the eyes of a child. Itās more than costumes and candy ā itās the feeling of becomingĀ your favorite character, the excitement of running door to door with friends, and the crisp sound of leaves crunching under your shoes as the night sky glows orange and purple.
For kids, Halloween is pure imagination. Itās the thrill of dressing up ā whether itās as a brave superhero, a silly pumpkin, or a spooky ghost ā and stepping into a world where anything feels possible. Itās decorating pumpkins, hanging paper bats, and whispering āboo!ā just to hear a giggle in return.
Itās the little things too ā the smell of caramel apples, the way porch lights twinkle down the street, and that one neighbor who always hands out full-size candy bars. š« Itās staying up a little later, feeling a little braver, and sharing those big belly laughs with friends as you compare candy hauls.
And as adults, we get to experience it all over again ā through the eyes of our children and grandchildren. We see the same joy, the same sparkle of imagination, and it reminds us what it means to slow down and just have fun.
Halloween isnāt just about ghosts and goblins ā itās about community, creativity, and connection. Itās about letting kids be kids, even if just for one enchanted night. š»āØ
So whether youāre trick-or-treating, crafting spooky dĆ©cor, or sipping cider by the fire, take a moment to soak it in. Because the magic of Halloween is something we never truly outgrow. šš
At Timber, Trends, & Friends, I try to capture that same spark of childhood wonder ā the joy of creating, laughing, and making memories with the people we care about. Every DIY craft night or workshop is a little reminder that creativity isnāt just for kids ā itās for anyone who loves to imagine, make, and share. šæ
